Kinetix Foundations

This one-day course is intended for individuals responsible for programing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Kinetix CIP motion servo drives in an industrial manufacturing setting. Topics covered include basics of CIP motion servo drives, configuration, and programing in Studio 5000, and troubleshooting of CIP motion. Additionally, students will also use skills and techniques used in class to program and implement a simple machine.

Who Should Attend


Kinetix Foundations is targeted to beginners or intermediate users of motion. Focuses on Kinetix 5500 drives, VPL motors, and CompactLogix processors. We include motion module & axes configuration, testing, motion direct commands and programming basic motion instructions.

Familiarity with Studio 5000


Next Learning Level


Hands-On Practice


Students will use a laptop to configure a Logix controller with Kinetix servos and motors. Approximately 1/2 of the class is lab.


Student Materials


All materials needed for this class will be supplied by Werner Electric for both in-person classes and Online Live classes. Training workstation: laptop, CompactLogix controller with Kinetix 5500 drive and motor. Student Manual.
